Julie has been writing middle-grade fantasy and picture books for over a decade. She's an active member of SCBWI, and part of a supportive community of pre-published and published authors. A lover of books, she is drawn to stories full of adventure and heart.
Julie graduated from Appalachian State University with a B.S. in Communications. She started her career in television post-production for Discovery Networks then shifted to working with at-risk youth and marginalized populations. She's currently studying at ShawU's School of Divinity for her M.Div. (Class of 2029) while Inquiring for Ordination in the PCUSA alongside her matriculation.
While Julie grew up mostly in North Carolina, she's spent time on both coasts as well as in between. She currently resides on a small farm in Raleigh with her two teenage sons and two dogs. She serves as a Guardian ad Litem for the Wake County Family Court System and enjoys time with friends, walking, tennis, and volunteering in her church and community.
